Hemmer Road Extension South

  • Description:
    This project will provide a new two-lane collector level road and pathway connection between the existing Hemmer Road segment south of the Palmer-Wasilla Highway to France Road.
  • Benefits:
    The purpose of this project is to improve connectivity, mobility, and traffic safety to the Valley Pathway School and local residents. This project is needed to enhance safety and relieve congestion at France Road by providing direct access to a signalized intersection at Palmer‐Wasilla Highway.
  • Status:
    The project team is developing the 35% design level plans. The preferred southern route has been selected based on long-term planning, topography, use, and public input.
  • Cost:
    Estimated total cost: $12,000,000.

    Construction timeline dependent on funding.
