The Matanuska-Susitna Borough (Borough), Land & Resource Management Division is preparing for a 2023 summer/fall competitive sealed bid Agricultural Land Sale offering for two tracts of land acquired by the Public Works Department on behalf of the Port MacKenzie Rail Extension project.  These tracts are in the Point MacKenzie Agricultural District.  The Alaska Division of Agriculture reserved in the patents a perpetual covenant for the benefit of all Alaska residents that restricts the use of the land to agricultural purposes only as defined in AS 38.05.321.  This restriction has been removed from the area needed for the rail and terminal reserve and a Notice of Public Dedication was recorded to define the area; therefore, the remaining area is excess land.Supporting material is available for public inspection during normal business hours on the 2^nd floor of the Matanuska-Susitna Borough building in the Land & Resource Management Division or visit the Public Notice Section on the Borough’s web page (www.matsugov.us).  Public comment is invited on this request.  If you have any comments please mail or deliver them to the Borough offices at the address indicated above, no later than June 8, 2023.  If you have questions about this request:  call Joe Metzger at (907) 861-7864 between 8:00-5:00 or you can send an e-mail to: This email address is being protected from spambots.
