Within the Matanuska-Susitna Borough, Borough roads have the
following weight restrictions:

CORE AREA extending to the Little Susitna River Bridge on the Parks Hwy
and to the Chickaloon River Bridge on the Glenn Hwy:

May 24, 2023 at 12:01am: All paved roads will return to 100% legal axle load
All gravel roads will remain at 50% legal axle load until further notice

(Core area restrictions may also be enforced on city maintained roads in the City of
Houston, Palmer and Wasilla. Contact their Public Works Department for more information.)

Axle loading limits are expressed as a percentage of allowable axle weight defined in 17 AAC 25.013. Weight restriction exemptions that apply to ADOT roads also apply to Borough roads. Additional emergency restrictions may be applied. Emergency restrictions will be advertised in the Frontiersman, posted on our web site: http://www.matsugov.us or be posted on the specific roads.
