MSB School District Pedestrian Projects (Safe Routes to Schools)
This package of projects was designed to provide safer access to schools for pedestrians. It implemented recommendations of the MSB Safe Routes to Schools Plan. The projects included improvements at: Big Lake Elementary School, Colony Middle & High Schools, Dena’ina Elementary and Redington Sr. Jr/Sr High School, Larson Elementary School, Machetanz Elementary School, and Talkeetna Elementary School. The projects included signage, striping, pathways, and sidewalks.
The improvements benefit public safety for both drivers and student/parent pedestrians.
