FAST Act Analysis
This is a summary of the new surface transportation bill, the FAST Act. The bill restructured some of the federal funding programs and attempts to streamline the environmental review process. It has some interesting provisions in it and will govern the administration of federal transportation policy for the next five years. In most cases, the feds will pass money to the states, and then the governors and legislatures will have more discretion in making the decisions about how to spend it.
