The Matanuska-Susitna Borough (Borough) Land & Resource Management Division is proposing an outcry auction salvage timber sale on Borough owned parcel tax ID 18N03W09A001. This parcel is located along Zero Lake Road, northwest of the Parks Highway at Milepost 59, just north of the Houston city limits. Salvage of spruce damaged by the recent bark beetle outbreak is being offered from approximately 300 acres. Access to the designated harvest area will be along existing forest access trails from Zero Lake Road.  An estimated volume of 1,200 cords of timber is expected to be extracted from the 300-acre timber harvest area.
