Hatcher Pass State Recreation Area - Open

The Department of Natural Resources has created a web-based incident report for recreational user conflicts in the East Hatcher Pass Management Area.

Collected information may be used to assist DNR in identifying recreational conflict types and areas of conflict. These reports will not necessarily result in active enforcement or investigation.

Grooming Reports for Independence Mine and Archangel Road: Mat-Su Ski Club or Snowio 

Independence Mine: 31 degrees, estimate 4 inches of fresh snow. 66 inches of snow. The trails were re-groomed Tuesday night and then again Thursday night. They will be re-groomed both Friday and Saturday nights.
Archangel Rd: 31 degrees, some fresh snow, estimate 50 inches of settled snow on the trail. Some woody material in the avalanche runout zones. The non-motorized section of the road was groomed last Friday night and we are planning on re-grooming again this Friday night.
